Welcome to Faith Community Church on the web, serving our Lord Jesus beginning at home in Shady Hills Florida, throughout the country
by our personal witness, and throughout the world by our support of a missionary outreach in Brazil and a partnership with the Florida Baptist Convention World Missions Cooperative
It's really quite simple
"Hear God and do what He says" is not an all new concept, nor is it an outdated saying of old. It is the most basic summary of God's intent for mankind yet it is the most difficult challenge to every person alive. Hearing God is not as difficult as it may sound nor should it be since we are created in His image and His desire is to have a relationship with us. The real challenge is in the "do what He says" part. We may be willing to be obediant to God's direction but we are weak in the flesh to carry out the teachings of Jesus Christ. To remedy that weakness God gives us a helper, the Holy Spirit, who is given to every believer to strengthen and to lead. We believe that we are simply answering the call to "make disciples of all people" and to love and feed the flock of Jesus. Come join us anytime and see what God is doing today.
Our Mission Statement
To encourage one another
To prepare the body for ministry
To go forth to reach our world for Christ
We believe in being the Church that Jesus intended when he said "My mother, and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it". God simplifies, man complicates. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
Expository Preaching is communicating biblical truth through the study of a passage in its context. It is a simple back to basics approach that "exposes" the message intended by God's word in a way that is simple to understand and therefore to live by. In contrast,
Topical Preaching chooses a "topic" and then tries to support it with multiple scripture passages often taken out of context resulting in confusion about the nature of God. "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints". (1 Cor 14:33)
